James arrives during a period in which the 76ers have been struggling to make it to the NBA Finals and have spent decades without a championship.
But LeBron is historically one of the best NBA players and has had a very successful career, some of which was spent playing with Dwyane Wade.
Wade and James had a number of years together with the Miami Heat before a second brief spell as teammates at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Now, the duo have linked up again this week, and images of the pair are going viral on social media.

The images show ‘LeBron and DWade back in the lab’, and a number of fans have now commented to suggest Wade could come out of retirement for the 76ers.
One fan wrote: “Sources tell me D-Wade is about to come out of retirement and come off the bench for the Sixers.”

A second echoed: “Wade coming back for one season.”
“You coming outta retirement,” added a third NBA fan.
Another asked: “Philly can use a veteran off the bench to train Edgecombe. Maybe Wade can suit up one more time?”
A fifth added: “He boutta come out of retirement and join the 6ers too, huh.”
“D-Wade coming out of retirement for Bron would be dope!” exclaimed another.
Wade ended his NBA career in 2019, with the Miami Heat then announcing that his No. 3 jersey would be retired in February 2020.
