SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating a late night shooting outside a residence in Surrey’s Whalley neighbourhood, where one victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. 

On Friday, August 7 at approximately 11:44 p.m., SPS frontline officers responded to reports of a shooting near a residence in the area of 88 Avenue and 127 Street where one person was injured and the suspect had fled the scene. Upon arrival, police located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to hospital by BC EHS.

SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken over the lead in the investigation.

The investigation is in its early stages; however, it is believed to be targeted and not extortion-related.
