The search is continuing for a girl who has been reported as missing and is presumed to have drowned in Cultus Lake.

At around 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, Chilliwack RCMP received a report that a 13-year-old girl who was floating on a paddleboard in Cultus Lake was believed to have suffered a medical emergency.

The girl was not wearing a life jacket, and is believed to have fallen in the water in the area around Entrance Bay.

Police officers, along with firefighters, BC Emergency Health Services, and Chilliwack Search and Rescue, were on scene Saturday afternoon conducting search and rescue efforts, which continued into Saturday evening and resumed on Sunday.

Police are asking the public to avoid the Entrance Bay area of Cultus Lake, as this is an active search and rescue operation.
