Meanwhile, in Fort Erie, authorities are investigating an arson that engulfed the former Ridgeway Crystal Beach High School on Ridge Road North in flames. The fire was reported around 1:15 a.m. on the same day. Although no injuries were reported, the building, which is set for demolition to make way for a housing development, was determined to be deliberately set on fire. The Niagara Regional Police’s 5 District criminal investigation bureau, in collaboration with the Fort Erie Fire Department, is handling the investigation.
