Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say Highway 17 west of Petawawa has partially reopened between Wylie Road in Deep River and Main Street in Chalk River, following a crash involving a transport truck Tuesday morning.
Traffic is now alternating use of one lane. OPP are asking drivers to follow directions from traffic flaggers.
The crash closed the highway in both directions and knocked down hydro lines in the area, according to police. OPP said no injuries were reported.
Wylie Road west of the highway is a detour option, though drivers should be aware it’s a relatively slow and narrow country road.
Hydro One reported a widespread power outage in the area of the crash. As of about 3:30 p.m., about 5,500 customers between Pembroke and Renfrew County were affected.
Power was restored Tuesday evening.
