KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children’s Museum of Kansas City hosted a “Science of Speed” event Tuesday in partnership with Kansas Speedway and NASCAR, offering families hands-on STEAM activities tied to motorsports.
The event ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and featured interactive stations designed to teach children about speed and motion, force and friction, and aerodynamics. Participating families also received racing-themed activity books, a discount offer on Kansas Speedway tickets, and one free pre-race pass.
NASCAR driver meets young fans
Cup Series driver Noah Gragson attended the event and met with children and families.
“To see their excitement today is awesome because I know what it was like as a kid to come to places like this and being able to do cool activities like this,” Gragson said.
What families could see and do
Visitors had access to an official NASCAR pace car parked outside the museum, along with outdoor learning stations and photo opportunities — all at no charge. Standard admission fees applied for families who entered the museum to participate in additional activities.
“Introducing our Wonderscope families to the world of racing is an exciting way to bring STEAM concepts to life,” said Roxane Hill, executive director of Wonderscope. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Kansas Speedway and NASCAR to encourage children to think about vehicles and driving in a fun, new way through interactive play and hands-on learning.”
