Thousands of residents and visitors gathered at Gage Park for Vibrant Brampton SummerFest 2026, one of the city’s largest multicultural celebrations, transforming downtown Brampton into a lively showcase of music, dance, food, art and community spirit over four days.
Organized by the Arts and Culture Initiative of South Asia (ACISA), this year’s festival marked its largest edition to date, expanding its programming while highlighting Brampton’s identity as one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

The free festival brought together families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, reflecting the changing face of the city and offering newcomers an opportunity to experience traditions from across South Asia while introducing those traditions to the broader community. Throughout the weekend, the park was filled with live performances, artisan vendors, local businesses, cultural exhibitions and food stalls representing the flavours and creativity of the region.
One of the festival’s defining features was its diverse entertainment lineup. Audiences enjoyed performances by internationally recognized Punjabi artists, contemporary musicians and cultural performers who blended traditional and modern styles on a single stage. From Punjabi folk and Bollywood-inspired performances to contemporary fusion music and youth-focused programming, the event showcased how cultural traditions continue to evolve across generations in Canada.
For many newcomers and immigrant families, festivals such as Vibrant Brampton offer more than entertainment. They create spaces where communities can preserve language, music and cultural traditions while building connections with neighbours from different backgrounds. Local entrepreneurs and small businesses also benefited from the event, using the festival as an opportunity to introduce their products, services and cuisines to thousands of attendees and support economic activity within Brampton’s growing multicultural marketplace.
Families participated in interactive workshops, cultural demonstrations and children’s activities throughout the weekend, reinforcing the festival’s emphasis on inclusion and community engagement. The festival ran from July 16 to 19 at Gage Park, featuring themed programming including Punjabi music, South Asian cultural performances and youth-focused entertainment.
