Attention Potterheads! A massive Harry Potter drone spectacle is lighting up the Toronto sky for two nights this fall.
On Sept. 25 and 26, the former Downsview Airport (at 590 Wilson Ave., North York) will transform into a glowing backdrop for the DroneArt Show: Harry Potter, an open-air production reimagining iconic moments from the film series.
“Fans in Toronto will have the opportunity to experience some of the most beloved moments from the Harry Potter film series reimagined in a first-of-its-kind open-air drone spectacle. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever are proud to announce the DroneArt Show: Harry Potter,” organizers announced.
The magic of the wizarding world
Before the main event begins, guests can explore food vendors, drink options, and official merchandise.
Once the show starts, 1,200 illuminated drones will glide through the night sky in high-tech synchronization, accompanied by dialogue and the original film soundtrack, plus a live violinist performing key melodies.
Fans can expect giant, glowing renditions of fan-favourite icons, including Dobby, Hedwig, the Sorting Hat, the Golden Snitch, and the Flying Ford Anglia.

“We set out to create something that feels as emotional and cinematic as the films, but experienced in a completely new way,” said Sofia Altuna, global lead for DroneArt Show at Fever.
The experience extends beyond the sky, too: audience members will be equipped with interactive LED wristbands that sync with the scene on stage. The entire performance runs for 60 minutes, including an intermission.
After its stop in Toronto, more tour dates are scheduled across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Toronto presale tickets will be available online on Aug. 17, while general tickets are selling on Aug. 19. Potterheads can join the wait list for early access and special offers.
General admission tickets for ages 12 and up are $75.90, and for children it’s $53.90.
