It is probably time for everyone to hit the pause button on Artificial Intelligence and ask the question:
Is AI something we need or just something that we want?
There are already close to 6,000 data centres in North America alone!
Billions of dollars are being spent to build more data centres while millions of people struggle to simply survive.
We live in a finite world and we are subject to the laws of chemistry and physics.
More data centres require more minerals and more electricity.
The electrical energy eventually gets converted to heat, which must be absorbed by an already over-heated planet!
We have become slaves to our own inventions. Are we going to let ‘artificial brains’ make all of our decisions for us?
No matter how big we build these data centres, there will never be a ‘computer’ that can replicate the human brain, which only weighs about 3 pounds!
Do we really need AI to survive on this planet?
