A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a child riding a bicycle was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision in Winnipeg’s West Kildonan neighbourhood Thursday evening.
The Winnipeg Police Service says officers were called shortly after 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13 to the 500 block of North Point Boulevard after a 2025 Dodge Ram struck the child.
The child was taken to the hospital in unstable condition with injuries from the collision. Police say the child’s condition was later upgraded to stable.

Police say the child was riding on a sidewalk in front of a housing complex when the truck exited a parking lot and entered the roadway.
The front bumper of the Dodge Ram struck the child, according to investigators.
Police say the driver fled the scene before officers were contacted.
Suspect arrested at Winnipeg residence
Investigators later identified a 29-year-old suspect and arrested him without incident at his residence.
He faces charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
