WELCOME, N.C. — Colin Braun may be best known today as one of sports car racing’s most accomplished drivers, but his path to international success began in NASCAR.

Braun will make his third start of the season for Kaulig Racing’s No. 25 Ram 1500 on Aug. 22 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as part of Ram’s Free Agent Driver Program. The race marks his first oval-track appearance in the truck after posting top-10 finishes in his first two starts.

“Every chance to climb into the No. 25 Ram 1500 gives us another shot to build on what we’ve established this season,” Braun said. “We’ve shown strong pace on road courses, and now we have a chance to show what we can do on an oval.”

While Braun has become synonymous with endurance racing success, his NASCAR résumé runs deeper than many fans realize.

After earning a class podium finish in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at just 17 years old in 2006, Braun signed with Roush Fenway Racing and entered NASCAR’s development pipeline. One year later, he claimed Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year honors, showcasing the talent that made him one of stock car racing’s most promising young prospects.

His NASCAR breakthrough came in 2009 when he earned his lone Truck Series victory at Michigan International Speedway. Braun also captured multiple poles and competed in the Xfinity Series before shifting his focus back to sports car racing.

That move proved fruitful.

Over the next decade, Braun established himself as one of IMSA’s elite competitors, winning three WeatherTech SportsCar Championship titles and four Rolex 24 at Daytona races. His career includes victories and championships across some of the world’s most prestigious endurance racing events, including Le Mans and Spa.

Despite his success in sports cars, Braun welcomed the opportunity to return to NASCAR competition this season.

“Heading to New Hampshire for my third start with this crew gives us great momentum,” Braun said. “I appreciate the trust RAM, Kaulig, Chris (Rice) and Ty (Norris) have put in me. Seeing the work this group has put in over the season motivates me to dig deep.”

Braun has rewarded that faith with consistent performances.

In his series return at St. Petersburg in February, he started 16th and methodically worked his way into the top 10, finishing ninth. At Lime Rock Park in July, a qualifying mechanical issue forced him to start last in the 33-truck field. Braun rallied to fourth before recovering from a late-race spin to salvage a 10th-place finish.
