A Calgary resident is among two men charged after Mounties seized suspected fentanyl and other drugs during a traffic stop in Red Deer earlier this month.
Red Deer RCMP say officers stopped a vehicle on July 2 along 30 Avenue and arrested the driver and passenger.
Officer then executed a search warrant at a home in the Lancaster neighbourhood. Police seized more than 1,100 grams of suspected fentanyl, more than 330 grams of suspected cocaine, around 24 grams of suspected crystal meth, one litre of suspected GHB, about $15,000 in cash, and drug‑trafficking materials.
Japinderjeet Singh, 22, of Calgary, is charged with four counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He has been released on conditions and was scheduled to appear in court last week.
The second suspect, from Surrey, B.C., is now wanted after failing to show up for his court date.
Police say 23-year-old Ravinder Singh Gosal faces the same charges and missed his court appearance. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
