Nominations are open for the 2026 National Philanthropy Day Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations making a difference in communities across Vancouver Island.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is seeking nominations in six categories: outstanding philanthropist, outstanding corporate responsibility, outstanding fundraising volunteer, outstanding charitable organization, outstanding youth in philanthropy and the John Saunders Lifetime Achievement Award.
The annual awards are part of National Philanthropy Day, a global celebration recognizing charitable giving, volunteerism, community leadership and philanthropy.
“Philanthropy” can take many forms, including volunteering, advocacy, fundraising, charitable giving and community leadership, according to the AFP Vancouver Island Chapter.
Nominations are open until Sept. 15.
Award recipients will be honoured at the National Philanthropy Day Awards Celebration on Nov. 19 at the Union Club of British Columbia in Victoria (805 Gordon St.).
The event will bring together community leaders, volunteers, fundraisers, donors and supporters from across Vancouver Island to recognize those making a lasting contribution to their communities.
Nominations, event tickets and sponsorship information are available at community.afpnet.org.
