Taylor Sheridan‘s spy thriller Lioness returned to Paramount+ on August 2, 2026, and the numbers landed quickly. Season 3 drew 7.1 million viewers in its first 7 days of streaming, according to Paramount internal data reported by Variety, ahead of the numbers its predecessor posted in the same stretch back in 2024.
Preliminary Nielsen data ranked the series as the No. 2 most-watched streaming original in the U.S. for the week of August 2 to 8. The show also generated 6.9 million social media views between August 2 and 4, enough to make it the buzziest streaming drama of those 3 days.
Three record launches in six months
This premiere caps a run few creators can match. On March 14, The Madison, Sheridan’s Western led by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, reached 8 million views in 10 days, the biggest first-season launch of his career at that point. Two months later, on May 15, Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone sequel continuing the stories of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, blew past that mark with 12.9 million views in its first week, the largest original series premiere in Paramount+ history. With Lioness now surpassing its own previous season, Sheridan has delivered 3 record-setting Paramount+ launches between March and August alone.
