SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) – A 13-year-old Saginaw fighter is now a national boxing champion.
Gideon Boxing Gym, a mid-Michigan nonprofit dedicated to uplifting local youth through boxing, is celebrating a big win of one of their fighters, Juan, now the 2026 Ringside “King of the Jungle”. The teen won the championship Aug. 8 in Grand Rapids.

Six boxers from Gideon Boxing Gym competed in the national tournament, with three advancing to the finals. Juan came home a champion.
Gideon Boxing Gym is a nonprofit youth development organization that uses boxing as a tool to build character, with a mission to instill integrity, courage, and discipline through physical fitness, mentorship, and life coaching.
The nonprofit said Juan’s win is a testament to what’s possible when Saginaw kids are given the right support.
