It’s only been a few weeks, but so far, Salma Hayek seems to be thoroughly enjoying her new role as a grandmother. Hayek’s stepson, François Pinault Jr., recently welcomed his first child with wife Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, and Hayek officially shared the news with her Instagram followers on Sunday. The baby boy is named François, just like his father and grandfather, but Hayek already has her own nickname for him.
“We are blessed to welcome the fourth living generation of Francois,” Hayek wrote in her Instagram caption. “Although I will call him Panchito. He seems to love it, and I cannot love him more.” In the video Hayek posted, she is seen holding the smiling baby and cooing to him in Spanish. I think he does, in fact, love his new nickname.
Hayek and François Pinault have been married since 2009 and share their daughter, Valentina, in addition to Pinault’s three children from previous relationships. Hayek told Red in 2017, “The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different.” Which now makes for a grand total of four children and one grandbaby. I wonder if Panchito will have his own special nickname for Grandma Salma.
