Offensive lineman Greg Van Roten signed with the New England Patriots on Monday. The news was first reported by Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
The 36-year-old spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Toronto Argonauts, earning an All-East Division selection as a CFL rookie. He was also the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player in both years.
Van Roten played 10 regular-season games with the Green Bay Packers prior to signing with Toronto, though he’s been a mainstay along NFL offensive lines since his tenure in Canada.

Since 2017, the native of Rockville Centre, N.Y. has played 134 regular-season NFL games and made 105 starts. He’s been a member of the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Van Roten was a two-time All-Ivy League selection as a member of the Quakers before going unselected in the 2012 NFL Draft.
He has earned almost $18.9 million playing in the NFL.
