Brampton veterans will be able to travel to and from Toronto for this year’s Warriors’ Day Parade without paying for transit.
Brampton Transit will offer free, all-day service on Saturday, Aug. 22, to Canadian War Veterans and one companion travelling to and from the 105th annual Warriors’ Day Parade.
The parade, held at Exhibition Place in Toronto, is a long-standing tradition honouring Canadian veterans, active military personnel and their families. This year’s event focuses on “Supporting Our Veterans Since the First World War.”
Veterans using Brampton Transit can identify themselves by showing a Brampton Transit War Veteran Pass or by presenting medals, a beret, uniform, blazer or service papers.
The free service is part of Brampton’s ongoing efforts to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian Armed Forces members.
Brampton Transit also operates a Veteran Pass Program, allowing veterans who live in Brampton to ride Brampton Transit for free when they show a valid Veteran Pass upon boarding.
The Warriors’ Day Parade was first held in 1921 and is marking its 105th celebration this year.

The free transit offer applies throughout the day on Aug. 22 for veterans and one companion travelling to and from the parade.
