The Winnipeg Jets continue to remember former star Jets player Dale Hawerchuk, six years after his death.
The team posted a collection of photos of the former Jets captain on social media, saying, “Today we continue to remember the life and legacy of our dear friend, Dale. His passion for the game and love for our community will forever inspire us.”

Hawerchuk died in 2020 after a battle with cancer.
“After an incredibly brave and difficult battle with cancer, our dad has passed away. My family is so proud of him and the way he fought,” Dale’s son Eric tweeted at the time.
Hawerchuk was 57 years old.
He played with the Winnipeg Jets from 1981 to 1990 after being selected first overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the Jets.
