Power was knocked out in a Brampton neighbourhood overnight after a crash caused by an alleged impaired driver.
Peel Regional Police said that at around 1:14 a.m., emergency crews responded to the scene on Rosedale Avenue, which is in the area of Main and Queen streets.
Police said several hydro poles were knocked over due to a single-vehicle crash.
The driver was reported to have suffered minor injuries and has been arrested for impaired driving, officers said.
Alectra Utilities said power is now out to approximately 1,167 homes and businesses in the area.
Crews are working, with the estimated time of restoration being sometime between 10 a.m. and noon.
Road closures are in effect in the area and will likely remain in place until the afternoon when repairs are complete, police said.
