A50-year love affair with Bali and the lifestyle it offers was the main reason Phil Cortis and his partner Gerry decided to retire there, but the fact that he could take his superannuation with him certainly helped.
“I spent a lot of time there – visiting an average of once a year for 50 years – and so it was an obvious place to retire to,” Cortis, 72, says from the home he rents in Seminyak, with his partner Gerry, 52, an Indonesian-born Australian.
