President Donald Trump lashed out at Canada and threatened new tariffs on Monday morning, as a Quebec opposition party said the province should use its hydroelectricity as leverage against the United States.

As the trade war escalates, the province should increase Hydro-Québec electricity rates for exports, said Québec solidaire co-spokesperson Ruba Ghazal.

“Quebec can no longer be content with picking up the pieces and turning the other cheek,” she said.
