A 35-year-old woman and a teen have both been charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of Jean-Christophe Desrosiers, 22, while he was behind the wheel of his truck in Montreal last Thursday.

The incident happened in the middle of the day in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough on Henri-Julien Avenue near Carmel Avenue, on Aug. 20.

Desrosiers was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

The accused teen, a 17-year-old, was located nearby shortly after the shooting and arrested. Their identity is protected by a publication ban because they are a minor.

A 35-year-old woman, Véronique Giroux, was later linked to the murder as well by police and arrested.

She will return to court on Nov. 5, while the teen has a court date scheduled earlier in the fall.

Desrosiers’s death marked the 17th homicide in Montreal this year.
