Toronto police say a man has been arrested and charged in a 2022 murder after investigators released more surveillance footage of the suspect.

Police say 31-year-old Ding Ping Wang was fatally shot inside a car in a plaza parking lot in the area of Midland and Passmore avenues on the night of Nov. 12, 2022.

Investigators released security footage earlier this month of what they said was the same suspect attempting to murder someone in the same parking lot on March 10, 2023, months after Wang’s death.

They had previously released footage of the suspect walking through the same area the day before the murder.

Police say a 39-year-old man from Toronto was charged with first-degree murder on Monday.

They say he appeared in bail court on Tuesday.

Police say the suspect’s connection to the attempted murder in 2023 remains under investigation.
