Four days later, charges are still not official against a 27-year-old suspect in a stabbing at a Sikh temple in northeast Edmonton.

It happened early Friday morning, and late Tuesday afternoon, police still are not revealing the arrested man’s name.

They say it’s because the investigation is ongoing and charges are still pending. The suspect, who was released from a federal prison the day before the stabbing, remains in custody on a previous warrant for not reporting to a halfway house.

The Edmonton Police Service’s Hate Crimes Unit is being consulted during the investigation.
