This weekend is not evenly weighted for Canadian punters. Vancouver travel to face the worst team in the Western Conference. Toronto hosts a New York City side that has stalled. Montréal walk into Fort Lauderdale as one of the longest away prices on the board. Three fixtures, three completely different betting propositions — and three of the widest price gaps between books on the entire slate.

Before you back any of them, compare the market. The odds below are drawn from four sportsbooks, and the spread on the Toronto draw alone runs from 3.45 to 3.97. Check the latest sports betting odds and confirm your book’s number before committing.

Vancouver Whitecaps: Top of the West, Shortest Price of the Weekend

Vancouver arrive at Children’s Mercy Park as the closest thing to a lock MLS produces. They sit first in the Western Conference on 40 points from 20 matches (12-4-4), with a league-best +27 goal difference, just 18 goals conceded and the highest expected-goals total in MLS at 47.48. Their 45 goals scored rank third and their 52 assists third.

Brian White has 12 goals from 64 shots. Thomas Müller has six goals and 38 chances created, and he set up three of four in a 4-2 win at San Diego on his way to a second MLS Team of the Matchday nod.

Sporting KC are 15th and last in the West on 15 points (4-14-3) with a -31 goal difference, 51 goals conceded — tied with Orlando for the worst in MLS — and a 2-5-3 home record. They have lost four of five, including 4-0 at LAFC and 2-0 to both Houston and Colorado. Dejan Joveljić’s eight goals represent most of what they have. Neither side reports fresh availability concerns.

One number does temper the enthusiasm: Vancouver are 8-2-1 at BC Place but 4-2-3 on the road. They are a very good away team, not an unbeatable one, which makes the price you take genuinely important. At 1.40 this is a parlay anchor rather than a standalone bet; 1xbet’s 1.423 is the version worth having.

Prediction: Sporting KC 0-2 Vancouver

Toronto FC: The Draw Machine of BMO Field

Toronto sit 10th in the East on 24 points from 21 matches with a record of five wins, seven losses and nine draws — the most in MLS alongside D.C. United. At home the pattern is even starker: 3-2-6. Six of their 11 matches at BMO Field have ended level. They are three points behind Saturday’s visitors and level on points with Orlando and D.C. United, so every dropped point in this range decides who makes the playoff picture.

New York City FC sit seventh on 27 points (7-8-6) and are 3-4-3 on the road. Nicolás Fernández has been their standout, with 13 goals from 33 shots on target, a total that puts him among the most efficient finishers in the league. Toronto have scored 31 and conceded 37 for a -6 difference; NYCFC are +5.

This is the most evenly priced Canadian fixture of the weekend — Toronto around 2.45 to 2.499, NYCFC around 2.59 to 2.639 — and the draw is where the books diverge sharply. Stake and Tonybet sit at 3.50 and 3.45; 20bet and 1xbet stretch to 3.89 and 3.97. Given Toronto’s home record and NYCFC’s middling road form, that gap is the single best-value discrepancy on the Canadian card.

Prediction: Toronto FC 1-1 NYCFC

CF Montréal: A Long Price Against a Vulnerable Home Side

Montréal are 14th in the East on 21 points (5-10-6) with a -10 goal difference, and on paper a trip to Inter Miami is a formality. The splits complicate it. Miami are second in the East on 39 points but are 3-2-4 at home and 8-2-2 on the road — three wins in nine at Chase Stadium. They have conceded 40 goals and picked up 56 yellow cards, the most in MLS alongside Dallas and Colorado.

That said, Montréal are 2-7-1 away from Stade Saputo, which is why 5.80 to 6.06 is not the free money it looks like. Prince Owusu carries an enormous share of a side that has scored just 29 goals all season.

Miami’s attack remains the deterrent. Lionel Messi leads MLS in shots (105) and shots on target (42) with 14 goals and nine assists, Luis Suárez and Germán Berterame fill in behind him, and the club’s 49 goals are tied for the league lead with 45.58 expected goals to back it up. This is a team that wins 3-2, not 1-0.

A straight punt on Montréal is a stretch. The defensible route is the goals market — both teams to score, or Owusu at a long anytime-scorer price.

Prediction: Inter Miami 3-1 CF Montréal

The Rest of the Saturday Card: Quick Picks

Nashville SC vs FC Cincinnati (1.78 to 1.817): Nashville lead the Supporters’ Shield race on 49 points, have the league’s best defence at 17 goals against, and are 10-0-1 at home. Cincinnati are 1-4-5 on the road despite Evander leading MLS in assists (11) and key passes (62). Nashville 2-1.

Colorado vs Real Salt Lake (2.00 to 2.037): Both on 28 points, priced near even. Colorado are 7-3-0 at home with no draws all season; RSL are 1-6-3 away. The clearest splits mismatch on the card. Colorado 2-1.

Portland vs Austin (1.58 to 1.612): Portland are ninth on 28 points, 6-2-2 at home with 38 goals scored. Austin are 14th on 21 with a -14 difference and 1-7-3 on the road. Portland 2-1.

Houston vs San Jose (1.67 to 1.72): Houston are second in the West on 38 points and 7-2-1 at home, but San Jose are 6-3-1 on the road and rank second in MLS for expected goals at 46.03 despite four straight losses. Closer than the price suggests. Houston 2-1.

Seattle vs Chicago (2.74 to 2.796): Chicago are third in the East on 36 points with Hugo Cuypers on 13 goals; Seattle are 13th in the West on 25 with just 22 goals scored. The market still makes Seattle home favourites, which reads as a Lumen Field premium rather than a form read. Chicago at 2.23 to 2.314 is the value.

Minnesota vs Orlando (1.76 to 1.794): A favourite worth fading. Minnesota are 2-3-5 at home — two wins in 10 — while Orlando are 2-7-1 away with 51 goals conceded. Minnesota 2-1, but the draw at 4.50 to 4.61 has merit.

San Diego vs LA Galaxy (1.81 to 1.846): San Diego lead MLS in passes completed (14,334) and Manu Duah’s 2,069 touches are the most of any player in the league. The Galaxy have drawn eight times and are 3-4-4 home and away alike. San Diego 2-1.

Others: D.C. United vs LAFC — identical 3-4-3 splits, but LAFC have the West’s second-best defence at 22 conceded; visitors at 2.00 to 2.039. Columbus vs New England — Columbus are last in the East yet 4-4-2 at home, New England are 2-5-2 on the road; the draw is live. Atlanta vs Charlotte — Charlotte are fifth but 2-5-2 away, making the draw at 3.60 to 4.11 the sharpest number. NY Red Bulls vs Philadelphia — the Union are the road favourite despite a 2-7-2 away record; back the Red Bulls at 2.85 to 2.967. St. Louis vs Dallas on Sunday pits two 33-point sides with identical 9-6-6 records; Petar Musa leads MLS with 16 goals. Draw.

Best Bets for MLS Aug. 29

1. Vancouver Whitecaps to win at Sporting KC (1.423 at 1xbet) — The league’s best expected-goals side against the worst defence in MLS, with no injury concerns and a 5-0 win in the bank. Take the longest available price; the difference between 1.40 and 1.423 compounds fast in a multi. Back it at 1xbet.

2. Toronto FC vs NYCFC — Draw (3.97 at 1xbet) — Six of Toronto’s 11 home matches have finished level, they have nine draws overall, and NYCFC have a thoroughly average 3-4-3 road record. Stake and Tonybet price the same outcome at 3.50 and 3.45, so shop this one hard.

3. Both Teams to Score, Inter Miami vs Montréal — Miami have conceded 40 goals and are 3-2-4 at home; Montréal have Owusu and little else, but little else has still been enough to score in most of their recent outings. A far safer route into the fixture than the 5.80+ away price. Check the market at Tonybet.

Suggested Canadian treble: Vancouver ML + Nashville ML + Colorado ML. Three sides whose opponents are 2-5-3, 1-4-5 and 1-6-3 in the relevant venue split, landing around 4.00 to 4.40 depending on where you build it. Price each leg separately rather than accepting a single book’s full ticket.

Where to Bet MLS in Canada

Price divergence on a 15-match card is significant, and this weekend is a clear example: the Toronto draw swings from 3.45 to 3.97 across four books, and the Montréal away price runs from 5.80 to 6.06.
