The draw for the 2025 US Open men’s and women’s tournaments are out, headlined by No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz on the same side of the bracket as Novak Djokovic.

No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner is on the opposite side of the bracket as his two primary rivals. The 24-year-old is seeking his second straight victory at this tournament after defeating Taylor Fritz in last year’s final.

In the women’s bracket, No. 1 seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka won’t have to worry about No. 2 Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek or No. 3 Coco Gauff until the final if the seeds hold.

The men’s bracket could be wide open given the uncertainty around Sinner’s health at this point. He withdrew from mixed doubles competition earlier this week after retiring in the first set of the Cincinnati Open final against Alcaraz on Monday due to illness.

Speaking to reporters after the Cincinnati Open, Sinner didn’t seem concerned about his illness lingering into the US Open.

“I love grand slams a lot. This is the main, main tournaments for my season and for my career. So US Open is going to be tough tournament, but in the same time, I’m looking forward to it. If I’m ready, physically and mentally, I will be ready to push. So as I said, now a couple of days of recovery, and then we get again back to work, and hopefully we’ll be ready. So for sure, the main goal here in the US.”

Sinner and Alcaraz have met in the finals of the French Open and Wimbledon this year, with both men winning once. Alcaraz won at Roland Garros in one of the greatest matches of all time, overcoming a two-set deficit and a tiebreak in the fifth.

Djokovic needs a deep run at the US Open to extend his streak of playing in at least one grand slam final every year since 2018. He lost in the semifinals at the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.

The women’s bracket is led by ÅšwiÄ…tek, who is coming off a victory at the Cincinnati Open. Sabalenka has been close to the mountaintop several times in 2025, losing in the finals at the Australian Open and French Open. She lost to Amanda Anisimova in the semifinals at Wimbledon.

Gauff, who defeated Sabalenka in the Roland Garros final, has had a rough time since that triumphant moment. She was stunned in the opening round at Wimbledon by Dayana Yastremska.

It’s clear that Gauff has felt something off with her game because she fired her coach, Matthew Daly, this week and hired a biomechanics specialist to help get her back on track.

The US Open was the site of Gauff’s first major triumph when she defeated Sabalenka in the 2023 final. She will be hoping to close out the 2025 grand-slam schedule with another deep run in New York.

One of the feel-good stories of the year is Venus Williams’ continued presence on the court. The 45-year-old legend had already been confirmed to play in the US Open as a wild-card entry.

Williams previously played at the Citi Open, defeating Peyton Stearns in the first round, and the Cincinnati Open leading up to the US Open.

The tournament will begin on Sunday with men’s and women’s first-round matches running through Tuesday. The women’s singles final will take place on Sept. 6, followed by the men’s singles final on Sept. 7.
