Montreal police on Saturday were probing an alleged stabbing of an 18-year-old man downtown and an arson attack on a beauty salon in Villeray. Police have said the incidents are separate.
In the first, police officers were called to the intersection of Ste-Catherine and Lambert-Closse Sts. around 3:30 a.m. It followed a report that a teenager was injured with a sharp object, according to Caroline Chèvrefils, a Montreal police spokesperson.
The teenager was found conscious but with wounds to his lower body, Chèvrefils said. He was taken to a hospital, where his injuries were deemed not life-threatening.
