ROSES AND ROTTEN TOMATOES: Rotten Tomatoes for irresponsible dog owners in Surrey

• Rotten Tomatoes to the people who take their dogs out for a walk, in the middle of hot summer day. Don’t do that, they overheat even if you take water for them. It’s also hard on their paw pads; they can dry and crack. It’s great that you are walking your dogs, just take them out early in the morning and or later in the evenings when it’s cooler out. Another thing, people who take your dogs out for a drive while you go shopping and leave them in your vehicles on a hot day! Leave them at home. It only takes them a few minutes to overheat in your vehicles, even with the window slightly down. We all need to use more common sense, people! Our pets are our best friends, treat them like that.

• One red rose to Surrey council, which endorsed the small-scale multi-housing review. I believe this is too little too late for my neighbourhood. Cars are illegally parked on both sides of the street by parking 90 degrees to the property line (this means head lights facing in to property line) or double-parked (two vehicles side-by-side along the road’s direction). At times this road becomes a single-lane road making it difficult for emergency vehicles to travel. The homes being built take up too much of the lot leaving no room for parking. Maybe Surrey council should tour the neighbourhood in person before issuing permits to builders.

• Roses to the fire department that has to keep returning to Hawthorne Park to put out the fires. Rotten tomatoes to those that set them.
