International Overdose Awareness Day Event. Please join the Surrey/White Rock Community Action Team to help raise awareness about overdoses, acknowledge the grief of families, friends and communities left behind and remember without stigma those who have died. This is a free public event that will be hosted on Aug. 31 from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at the White Rock Promenade and Memorial Park. There will be live music, a free BBQ, community resource tables, shared stories of people with lived experiences, Naloxone training and a candlelight vigil.
