Celtic remain active in the transfer market with the clock ticking toward the September 1 deadline.
According to journalist Anthony Joseph, the Hoops are looking to bring in two wingers, a striker and a left-back before the window shuts, with multiple enquiries already made on key targets.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Jakob Breum are the two wide men believed to be on Celtic’s radar, though both deals have hit obstacles in recent days. Talks for Balikwisha have reportedly stalled, with Royal Antwerp holding firm on their valuation, while Go Ahead Eagles have yet to lower their £6 million asking price for Breum.
Up front, Celtic are still trying to find a proper replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi, who left for Rennes in January. Adam Idah continues to live up to Kyogo’s high standards, but Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he wants more firepower before the window closes.
On the left-hand side of defence, a replacement or backup option is being sought after the early season absence of Kieran Tierney raised fitness concerns.
However, the situation may become more pressing at right-back, with Alistair Johnston now awaiting scan results after being stretchered off during the 0-0 draw with Kairat Almaty.
Johnston’s injury could force the club into the market for a fifth signing if the damage proves significant.

With fans growing restless over the lack of movement and European qualification hanging in the balance, the pressure is now on the Celtic board to back the manager before the window closes.
Plenty of work remains behind the scenes at Lennoxtown, and the coming days could define not only the squad’s shape, but the direction of the season ahead.
