Man stabbed at The Forks by group of young people

A man in his 40s was attacked and stabbed by a group of unknown young people at The Forks Monday night, Winnipeg police said.

Officers from the Central and East districts, along with a K-9 unit, responded to the incident Monday at about 10:55 p.m., Winnipeg police said.

Police said the victim was walking through a park in the Forks Market when he was attacked by a group of unknown young people.

The group fled before police arrived.

The man was taken to hospital in unstable condition. His condition was later upgraded to stable.

The Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
