Royce White is putting the WNBA in a tight spot amid their silence over gender eligibility rules.

Enes Kanter is taking the nuclear option, filing a federal lawsuit against the Chicago Sky, the city, and Wintrust Arena after getting kicked out over a provocative shirt.

While Kanter pushes for a direct legal fight, Royce White has taken a backseat. White recently showed up at a Fever game without making a scene, quietly waiting for the WNBA to respond to his draft declaration.

Yet the aim remains the same. Enter for the WNBA draft if the league don’t change their rules.

Whatever held a debate between transgender women and Royce White on their YouTube channel.

During the debate, White was asked for an update on the current situation: “What’s the current status? What’s going on with the WNBA?”

White said: “The WNBA has to make a decision about who they let play in their league, the rules and eligibility, as many sports leagues or professional sports leagues have done in the past. And right now, we’ve put in a declaration for the 2027 draft. We haven’t heard back from the WNBA about my eligibility status.

“If they don’t make any clear definitive changes to their rules as currently stated, then I’m all clear to play in or participate in the league and obviously the draft and we’ll go from there.”

The WNBA has no choice but to come out and address the situation at some point, because as it stands, he’s effectively saying, “If you stay silent, your current rulebook gives me the green light.”
