EXCLUSIVE: FBI: Most Wanted alumna Alexa Davalos will headline the second installment of Fox‘s Biblical limited series The Faithful. Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow), Tom Payne (The Walking Dead) and Ben Robson (Animal Kingdom) also will play leads in Part 2 of the six-episode series based on The Old Testament’s Book of Genesis, which is told through the eyes of five of the Bible’s most iconic women: Sarah and her former slave Hagar; Sarah’s great-niece Rebekah; and Rebekah’s nieces, sisters Leah and Rachel.
The second installment centers on Rebekah, played by Davalos, with Mison playing her husband Isaac, and Payne and Robson portraying their adult sons Jacob and Esau, respectively.
Rebekah is the woman who risked everything. When a mysterious stranger arrives with an invitation, she makes a decision that will define generations. Bold, compassionate, and courageous, she’s tested in every imaginable way after a conversation with God sets her on an irreversible path.
Isaac is burdened by an inheritance he didn’t ask for and haunted by a faith he both fears and yearns to understand. The son of Abraham and Sarah, he’s a man deeply shaped by his near sacrifice from his father’s hand at God’s instruction.
Jacob is a survivor and a strategist who, mired by his position as the second-born son, learns to rely on cunning and determination for the blessing he seeks. In Jacob, we see not perfection, but transformation. Not divine purity, but divine persistence.
Esau is a hunter and a warrior who carries the weight of expectation placed on the firstborn son. He is loved deeply by his family, but becomes a pawn in a larger game that plays out between him and his brother.
The Faithful, from Carol Mendelsohn, Rene Echevarria and Fox Entertainment Studios, will premiere Sunday, March 22 and air in three, two-hour installments leading into the finale on Easter Sunday, April 5. Part 1 stars Minnie Driver as Sarah, Jeffrey Donovan as Abraham and Natacha Karam as Hagar.
Davalos most recently starred as Special Agent Gaines on FBI: Most Wanted and also was part of the main cast of Prime Video’s The Man In the High Castle. She is repped by The Burstein Company and Gersh.
This marks Mison’s return to Fox where he headlined Sleepy Hollow. He will next be seen in the MGM+ series Robin Hood. Mison is repped by Verve and UK’s Independent Talent Group.
Payne recently starred in the Blumhouse feature Imaginary and in Kevin Costner’s Western Horizon: An America Saga. He is repped by Independent Artist Group, Authentic Talent + Literary, Curtis Brown, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
Robson most recently starred in Peacock’s John Wick prequel series The Continental. He is repped by Gersh, UK’s Rogue Management and Entertainment 360.
