UPDATE: The OPP says Highway 10 has reopened. The closure on The Gore road due to a sinkhole remains in place.

Police have closed part of a highway north of Brampton following a crash between multiple vehicles.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. on Highway 10 in the area of Olde Base Line Road in the Inglewood community of Caledon, the OPP Central Division said on Saturday.

Police say emergency crews are on scene following a collision “involving multiple passenger vehicles.”

Occupants of the vehicles were assessed at the scene, and police say no life-threatening injuries have been reported. A spokesperson with Peel Regional Paramedic Services confirmed to INsauga.com that emergency medical services were notified of the crash, but that no ambulance was required.

The OPP have closed the southbound lanes of Highway 10 at Olde Base Line Road, while the northbound lanes remain open to traffic.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area, and should expect delays while emergency crews are on the scene.

Peel Public Works is also reminding drivers that The Gore Rd remains closed in both directions between Mayfield Road and Healy Road in Caledon after a sinkhole opened in the road.
