Residents have been evacuated from a Brampton street following an active gas leak Sunday afternoon.
Peel Regional Police reported a “dangerous condition” in the area of Seaborn Road and Bingham Road in Brampton.
Police said the gas leak was located at the rear of a residential unit and all residential units on the street were evacuated as a precaution.
No injuries have been reported.
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services and Enbridge Gas crews were called to the scene and were working to deal with the leak.
Police reported the incident at approximately 4:48 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 6) and asked people to avoid the area while emergency crews were working.
In an update, police said no transit routes were affected by the incident.
The gas leak was expected to take approximately two to three hours to repair.

The cause of the leak has not been officially confirmed.
Emergency crews remained on scene Sunday evening as work continued to repair the leak and make the area safe.
Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the Seaborn Road and Bingham Road area while crews continue their work.
