Beyond the circuit, fans can visit the new F1 Exhibition near Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore GP F1 Exhibition at Gallery26 Dempsey, a life-sized car vending machine at the Ten Square building on Selegie Road and Café Carrera by Porsche and Baker & Cook. It’s also possible to meet F1 drivers at pop-ups all across the city. “These are generally announced last minute,” Thiam says. “So keep your eyes and ears peeled.”

Keep yourself cool and hydrated
“Don’t underestimate the temperature. Though it may appear manageable when checking your weather app, the humidity is what usually takes a toll.”
Prohibited items
“Tripods are not allowed inside the circuit, nor are soft drinks. There are bag checks at every entrance, and you’ll have to leave your items or throw them out if you’re caught with anything that’s prohibited.”
Ask for help
“There are plenty of volunteers around the track if you’re lost or need help. It’s saved me a lot of time when figuring out the best routes to the opposite end of the circuit, and they’re all really patient and knowledgeable.”
