Police are looking into a possible stabbing in Brampton that prompted a large police presence Saturday night.
Peel Regional Police said officers responded to the area of Yately Street and Clockwork Drive at approximately 10 p.m. following reports of an altercation.
Investigators say the incident may have involved a stabbing.
Several officers were reported in the area and residents were asked to avoid the scene.
No information has been released about the victim, the severity of the injuries, how many suspects may be involved or what may have led to the altercation.
Meanwhile, police were also investigating a stabbing in Mississauga on Saturday evening that left one person with critical injuries.
Officers responded to the area of Main Street and Dundas Street East at around 5:40 p.m., where a victim was found suffering from life-threatening injuries and taken to a trauma centre.
One suspect was taken into custody, while police searched for a second person. Police said the incident was believed to be isolated and there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
The investigations remain ongoing.
