MOORESVILLE, N.C. — CARS Tour points leader Caden Kvapil will make his NASCAR national series debut Sept. 17 when he climbs behind the wheel of the No. 76 Nor-Cal Equipment Rentals Chevrolet Silverado for Freedom Racing Enterprises in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Team owner and regular driver Spencer Boyd announced the move Wednesday, stepping aside from the seat to provide the rising Chevrolet prospect an opportunity to compete on one of NASCAR’s biggest stages during Bristol’s Night Race weekend.

Kvapil enters the event with significant momentum. The young standout currently leads the CARS Tour standings and recently captured his third victory of the season at Florence Motor Speedway.

The debut also adds another chapter to one of stock car racing’s well-known family names. Kvapil is the son of former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil and the younger brother of Carson Kvapil, who competes for JR Motorsports.

Boyd said the decision aligns with Freedom Racing Enterprises’ long-term focus on growth and driver development.

“Caden had been on our radar,” Boyd said. “With his consistent performance in the CARS Tour and our backing from Nor-Cal Equipment Rentals, we determined that Bristol was the right racetrack to make his debut.”

Kvapil quickly accepted the opportunity, citing both the significance of competing at Bristol and Boyd’s willingness to hand over the ride.

“For a kid who has grown up in a family of NASCAR racing, it is honestly special to make my debut at Bristol during the Night Race weekend,” Kvapil said. “I’m optimistic about a good run, hoping to make everyone involved very proud.”

Nor-Cal Equipment Rentals, a longtime partner of Boyd and Freedom Racing Enterprises, will serve as the primary sponsor. Dirty Graphix and additional partners are also supporting the effort.

Nor-Cal Equipment Rentals’ Tom Butts praised Boyd’s decision to prioritize a young driver’s future over his own seat time, calling it a reflection of the team owner’s vision for the organization.

The UNOH 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway is scheduled for Sept. 17, with television coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
