Rodgers fired a 1-over 73 in the third round at Niakwa Country Club, following back-to-back rounds of 78 to sit at 13-over for the championship.

That moved Rodgers up 19 spots, from a tie for 62nd into a tie for 43rd heading into Friday’s final round. He’s 15 shots back of the lead and currently sits seventh in the Super Senior division.

At the top of the Senior leaderboard, Port Moody’s Todd Wiseman carded a second straight round under par, shooting a 1-under 71 to move to 2-under overall and take a one-shot lead into the final round.

Bryan Hoops of Tempe, Arizona is second at 1-under, while Winnipeg’s David White and Daniel Neveu of Pinehurst, North Carolina are tied for third at 1-over.

Two past champions, Doug Hanzel and defending champion Don Martone, are among four players tied at 2-over.

In the Super Senior division, Ronnie Clark of Scotland and Hanzel share the lead at 2-over, with Red Deer’s Ken Griffith five shots back in third.
