Team Bleekemolen is making big moves for the 2025 NASCAR GP Czech Republic by fielding a third entry for the final race of the regular season. The Dutch powerhouse has signed local hero Michal Makes, who will take the wheel of the #76 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Euro Series PRO division. The 25-year-old from Prague will share the car with Michael Bleekemolen, who will return to action in the OPEN Division.
The team’s plans don’t stop there. With Michael Bleekemolen returning to OPEN, Bruno Mulders is set for double duty behind the wheel of the #72 car. Sebastiaan Bleekemolen and Melvin de Groot continue their campaigns in the #69 Toyota Camry, joined by Sebastiaan’s daughter Robin who will make her debut in Rookie Challenge.
It represents a major shake-up for the Dutch organization, which has been a mainstay in the championship under the guidance of the Bleekemolen family. Makes got his first taste of a EuroNASCAR machine during a recent test with the team, where he quickly adapted to the V8-powered, no-electronic-aids stock car thanks to his extensive background in GT and touring cars.
Team manager Sebastiaan Bleekemolen is eager to see how the Czech weekend unfolds: “It’s cool to have an experienced driver in the team for the PRO championship. We have a strong line-up because Bruno will finish the season competing in both divisions. Michal does not have much experience in NASCAR but he has driven a lot of different cars – GT3, GT4, TCR and so on. I’m pretty sure he will have the pace right from the beginning. Although Most is his home race, he doesn’t know the track that well, but we always had strong cars here and we can use a lot of data. I have high expectations.”
For Makes, it’s the chance of a lifetime. The Czech talent instantly fell in love with the raw power and unique driving style of the EuroNASCAR stock car and is excited to make his debut in front of his home fans. Competing in the PRO Division during a debut is no easy task, but with his versatile racing background, he’s determined to leave his mark in his first-ever NASCAR appearance.
“I saw Martin Doubek racing in the NASCAR Euro Series. I have known about NASCAR for a very long time and I have watched the races in Europe in the past, so it was nothing new to me,” said Makes, talking about how he discovered the championship. “After racing touring and GT cars, I wanted to experience as many series as possible, and I had always been interested in NASCAR. It’s great that it worked out, and I had a lot of fun in the car.”
It’s a new step for me, and I’m looking forward to trying it. My goal is to finish the 2025 season and potentially compete full-time in the 2026 season. I want to be in the toughest competition from the outset, which is why I’m racing in PRO. I’m hoping to be on the podium, or at least in the top three, but it’s also about gaining experience and having fun. I felt really good in the car during the test, and I hope to maintain that momentum. My main goal is to gain experience this year so that I can be competitive in the coming season.”
The 2025 NASCAR Euro Series regular season will conclude at Autodrom Most on August 30-31. After the Czech event, all drivers will drop their two worst results before heading into the double-points Playoffs at Oschersleben (Germany) and Zolder (Belgium). Fans around the world can catch all the action live with qualifying and races broadcast on EuroNASCAR’s YouTube channel and a wide range of international TV partners.
