Hisense 85″ U7 Mini-LED ULED 4K UHD TV (85U7SG, 2026 New)

Best Premium Gaming Smart Google TV – Hi-QLED, Native 165Hz, VRR 330, HDR10+, Dolby Vision IQ·Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, Anti-Reflection, 2.1.2 Ch

With a TV this big, physical installation needs to be considered: it weighs approximately 76.2 pounds without the stand. A 600x400mm VESA mounting pattern allows you to mount it on your wall should you wish, but make sure you use suitably rated hardware and attach it to a wall structure capable of supporting the load safely.

Connectivity on the TV includes four HDMI ports, two USB ports, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4. Wi-Fi 6E adds access to the 6GHz band with compatible networking hardware, potentially reducing congestion compared with heavily occupied 2.4GHz and 5GHz environments. Read below for additional detail on the various specifications, or see the foot of this page for some alternative TV deals.

What we like about this 85-inch Hisense U7SG TV

85-inch 4K Mini-LED panel

The Hisense U7SG combines an 85-inch 4K panel with Mini-LED backlighting, giving it the screen size and backlight control needed for an especially cinematic presentation. At this size, 3840 x 2160 resolution provides roughly 8.29 million pixels, while the large physical panel makes the TV particularly suitable for spacious living rooms and longer viewing distances.

Hi-QLED quantum-dot color

Hisense uses its Hi-QLED implementation to widen the available color gamut beyond what conventional non-quantum-dot LCD televisions can typically reproduce. Quantum-dot filtering is designed to improve color volume and saturation, which becomes particularly useful with bright HDR content where maintaining vivid color at higher luminance levels can otherwise be difficult.

Up to 3,000 local-dimming zones

The U7SG is rated for up to 3,000 local-dimming zones. Dividing the Mini-LED backlight into a large number of independently controlled regions allows the television to brighten highlights while dimming darker areas of the image, helping increase perceived contrast and reduce the amount of unwanted light surrounding bright objects.

Up to 3,000 nits peak brightness

Hisense claims peak brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits, giving the TV substantial HDR headroom for specular highlights such as reflections, flames, sunlight, explosions, and other bright image elements. Peak brightness should not be confused with sustained full-screen luminance, but it can make HDR material appear considerably more impactful when combined with effective local dimming.

Native 165Hz refresh rate

A native 165Hz panel is one of the U7SG’s strongest gaming specifications. At 165Hz, a new refresh can occur approximately every 6.06 milliseconds, allowing compatible high-frame-rate sources to produce substantially smoother motion than conventional 60Hz or 120Hz televisions.

Game Booster 330 with VRR

Hisense also advertises Game Booster operation up to 330Hz with variable refresh rate support. This should be treated separately from the panel’s native 165Hz refresh specification, as boosted modes can use particular resolution, processing, or input configurations rather than representing a native 330Hz 4K panel.

Anti-reflection screen treatment

The U7SG uses a dual-layer anti-reflection treatment intended to reduce the visibility of windows, lamps, and other bright objects on the screen. This is particularly valuable on an 85-inch display because a larger surface area can reflect more of the surrounding room than a smaller television.

Hi-View AI Engine Pro

Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine Pro analyzes incoming content and applies processing to areas such as color, contrast, clarity, and motion. This can be useful for lower-quality broadcast or streamed material that does not fully exploit the native resolution or dynamic range of the panel.

Broad HDR support

The U7SG supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HDR10+, and HDR10+ Adaptive. Having support for multiple HDR standards improves compatibility across streaming services, UHD content, and other sources rather than restricting the TV to a single dynamic-HDR ecosystem.

2.1.2-channel audio system

The integrated audio system uses a 2.1.2-channel layout with up to 50W of rated output, Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X, and tuning by Devialet. The inclusion of dedicated height channels gives the built-in sound system a more ambitious configuration than conventional stereo TV speakers, particularly for Atmos-compatible content.

Who should buy this 85 inch TV?

The Hisense 85-inch U7SG is aimed at users who want a genuinely large-screen television with an emphasis on both HDR movie viewing and high-refresh gaming. Its combination of Mini-LED backlighting, up to 3,000 local-dimming zones, quantum-dot color, and high claimed peak brightness makes it particularly well suited to mixed bright-room and dark-room use. Sports, films, streaming content, and console games can all benefit from the increased field of view when the room provides enough distance to accommodate such a large screen comfortably. The native 165Hz panel, VRR support, enhanced Game Bar, and Game Booster functionality make the U7SG substantially more gaming-focused than a conventional 60Hz television.

The TV is less suitable for smaller rooms where viewers sit very close to the screen or where wall and furniture dimensions make an 85-inch chassis impractical. At roughly 74.4 inches wide and over 76 pounds without the stand, placement needs more planning than with a typical 55- or 65-inch TV.
