VIDEO: A ‘sloppy’ loss by Vancouver FC to Toronto

“I don’t think our quality was where it needed to be today,” said Vancouver FC coach Martin, following a 3-1 loss to Inter Toronto on Sunday at York Lions Stadium.
Luca Accettola got the scoring started for Toronto with a strike from well outside the box. Then, less than five minutes after the break, Tomasz Skublak doubled the lead and went on to also score Toronto’s third goal.
Vancouver would strike back with about 20 minutes to play, as Thierno Bah snuck a ball past Inter keeper Kai Campos.
While Nash said the first goal was “a worldie,” the following two were preventable, in his view.
“We gave a lot of easy balls away, we had moments in transition where we had numbers and we just didn’t take advantage,” Nash said.
“I thought we had a sloppy start to the second half, which hurt us; two sloppy goals from our point of view, and you can’t give sloppy goals away, especially on the road. Not ideal, but it’s one we’re going to have to put behind us quick.”
Vancouver remain in control of their own destiny in fourth place, but they’ve now lost four of their last five games.
