You could almost sense a split in the home-and-home series was coming between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers after how close the Labour Day Classic was.
And that’s just how it played out as the Bombers avenged their loss a week earlier with a 19-6 win over the Roughriders on Saturday in the Banjo Bowl, to pull within two points of Saskatchewan in the West Division standing, with the potentially important tiebreaker also in hand.
For the Roughriders, who now head into a bye week, it was their worst offensive performance since the Banjo Bowl in 2023, when they also scored just six points.
