Senior Games hosts 36 golfers for fun tournament at Forest Ridge

Sept. 8 event was a four-person Texas Scramble format event

Ontario Senior Games Association District 3 welcomed 36 members aged 55 to Forest Ridge Golf Course on Sept. 8 for a fun day on the links.

Using a four-person Texas Scramble format, organizers said the Calloway handicapping system used for the event “made for some interesting scores.”

Coming away with medals from the tournament were:

Men: David Soehner, Ron Belanger, Norm Lafleur and Ian Jones; women: Andrea Hilton, Monique Schler, Sylvie Dumas, Lisa Rouillard; mixed: Elva and Paul Henri, and Louise and Albert Breton.

Committee convenors for the fun tournament were Ken Ellis, Patricia Hayes and Rob McIlvenna.

In preparation for the 2027 Provincial Summer Games, which are being held in Brockville, in August, District 3 is looking for convenors for qualifying events in Sudbury and area.
