ARLINGTON, Texas (KLTV) – On Tuesday, Boston Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy announced that Hallsville’s Justin Slaten is expected to miss the rest of the season with an elbow injury, MLB.com reports.
The right-hander was placed on the injured list on Aug. 16 with right elbow inflammation.
MLB.com reports that Tracy met with Dr. Keith Meister, an orthopedist in the Dallas area, and the evaluation revealed “degenerative changes in his flexor mass” in Slaten’s right elbow.
The Red Sox (82-69) currently hold the second wild-card spot in the American League. This season, Slaten (2-4) had a 4.60 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings.
