The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is launching a new Chamber Orchestra Series that includes two concerts in the Studio Theatre at the Living Arts Centre. The venue seats 250, creating an intimate ambience where the audience is just steps away from the musicians.
The programs for the Chamber Orchestra Series have been designed with both new audiences and veteran concertgoers in mind, offering a blend of performance and commentary from Maestro Denis Mastromonaco and the musicians of the MSO that adds depth to the experience.
The first concert in the series will be The Art of the String Orchestra on Saturday, September 26.
“The Studio Theatre allows us to offer a premium artistic experience at an accessible price, welcome new audiences, and bring something distinctive to Mississauga,” says Claudine LaRochelle, Executive Director of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra in a statement.

The Art of the String Orchestra features selections from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, the first movement of Vivaldi’s Autumn, Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings, Holst’s St. Paul’s Suite, and Barber’s Adagio for Strings.
“This program shows the full range of the string orchestra,” said Denis Mastromonaco, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra. “From the energy of Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, and Holst to the warmth of Dvořák and the emotional depth of Barber, these works are especially powerful at close range.”
The second concert in the series will be The Art of the Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, June 19, 2027, with a program of music by Gabrieli, Bach, Mozart, Dvořák, Ravel, and Stravinsky.
The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra 2026
The MSO’s season also includes The Masterworks and The Pops series concerts. This year rounds out with three more concerts.
The regular concert series kicks off on October 17 in aprogram of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 performed with soloist Roman Rabinovich, piano, along with Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra.
On November 22, The Art of the Mediterranean offers guitarist Daniel Bolshoy in Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez alongside Debussy’s La Mer.
The year closes with A Merry Little Christmas for two shows on December 12, a matinee and an evening performance, featuring a joyful concert of holiday favourites and singalong selections, with both the Mississauga Symphony and the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra.
