Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Dana White’s Contender Series 93:
The headliner of DWCS is a middleweight bout between Norbert Novenyi Jr. and Theo Haig. Novenyi is a former Bellator MMA prospect who has won three straight fights since leaving that now-defunct organization in 2024. He is 10-1 overall in his MMA career, with nine of his wins coming by stoppage. As for Haig, he is 7-1 in his MMA career, with a TKO loss to Cezary Oleksiejczuk on last year’s edition of DWCS. Now, after picking up a win in LFA in his last fight, he is getting another chance to step back into DWCS and get a chance to earn a UFC contract. While Haig is a solid fighter, Novenyi is a legitimate prospect at 185 lbs, and he is the clear favorite to win this fight and earn himself a UFC contract should he get a finish, as expected.
In the co-headliner, we have Alvi Dasuyev taking on Jaden Ortega at welterweight. Dasuyev is a perfect 9-0 so far in his MMA career, with all nine of his wins coming by way of stoppage, and he will look to stay undefeated here against Ortega, who himself is undefeated with a 6-0 record. It’s always interesting when you have two undefeated prospects going up against each other, so this should be a very intriguing fight. Ultimately, however, you have to lean toward Dasuyev to win it.
