Pakistan’s national kabaddi team defeated Malaysia 65:22 in a Group B match at the Asian Games in Tokai, Aichi Prefecture. Pakistan ended the first half with a 38:11 lead and earned 10 points for a complete elimination of the opponent.

Bronze in MMA
Asim Khan brought Pakistan its first medal of these Asian Games, winning bronze in modern mixed martial arts in the up to 60 kg weight category. In the semifinal, he lost to Tajikistan’s Mirzobek Umarov at the Nagoya City Inae Sports Center.

Khan secured the bronze medal by reaching the semifinals: in the quarterfinal, he defeated Cambodia’s Sopanya Feng. In swimming, Pakistan’s Hamza Asif did not advance through qualification in the 50-meter freestyle: he finished second in his heat with a time of 24.04 seconds and ranked 30th overall.
Other team results
Pakistan’s men’s national table tennis team finished the team competition without victories after losing 0:3 to India. In women’s doubles, Fatima Khan and Alina Khan lost to North Korean representatives Gyong Song Pyong and Im Jong Choi.
In mixed doubles soft tennis, Sabrina Khan and Rafae Bashir lost to the Indonesian pair Rizki Laluyan and Allif Nafia in five sets. Kainaat Shallwani and Hamza Arain also suffered defeats to pairs from South Korea and the Philippines. Pakistan’s quartet was unable to finish the mixed triathlon relay.
