An annual event to raise funds for programs and services that create opportunities for people living with developmental disabilities is set to pace off Saturday (Sept. 26) at the South Surrey Athletic Park track.
Planners behind UNITI’s family-friendly Walk & Roll Fundraiser say with more than $85,000 raised so far, the $100,000 fundraising goal for the event is in sight.
People of all abilities are invited to help the organization cross that finish line, and support communities “where everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute and belong,” UNITI CEO Katie Crocker said in a news release.
“The funds raised help UNITI deliver programs and services that remove barriers and help people living with disabilities pursue their goals, share their talents and shape their communities.”
The track is located at 14600 20 Ave. Registration gets underway at noon, with the three-lap walk/roll itself scheduled for 1 p.m.
